More Former Commissioners than Fresh Candidates as Rebecca Bays Officially Files for District 4

Rebecca Bays, who served on the county commission from 2010-2014, officially dropped her bid for state house and entered the race for county commission district 4.

Bays joins fellow former commissioner Winn Webb, community activist John Murphy and businessman Phil Nichols in the race to replace Scott Carnahan.

So what gives with the headline? With two former commissioners and two new faces, why is the Concurrent reporting that there are more former commissioners?

The lingering presence of Scott Adams looms over all the candidates as the former commissioner is expected to enter the race soon as well. Candidates have until Friday, June 17 to pay the filing fee.
